Exclusive for sale on operaroma.it /shop two unique art objects made by Ai Weiwei on the occasion of Turandot. The Chinese artist not only directed the opera but also designed the sets, the costumes and the videos of this new production realised for the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. Turandot is on stage until March 31st 2022.
Umbrella with a hole are umbrellas designed by the Chinese artist as props for the staging of Turandot, on the occasion of his first opera direction. They are unique artistic creations made in a limited and numbered series totalling only 500 pieces. They are available in two colours, black or white, with a fiberglass metal frame (size: 23′ x 8k), rubber-coated plastic handle and 210T polyester material with screen printing. They were manufactured in Rome in 2019 on the occasion of the staging of Turandot and designed by Ai Weiwei who is one of the most celebrated artists in the international scene.
These unique art objects are made even more special by Ai Weiwei’s autograph signature, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity that certifies and guarantees the authenticity of the work indicated.
Beyond the umbrellas is available on operaroma.it / shop a special poster designed by Ai Weiwei for the production of Turandot. The poster have been produced by the Venetian publishing house Damocle Edizioni in a limited and numbered edition, for a total of only 200 copies. The playbills are printed with the traditional two colors typographic printing on Fedrigoni Arena Bulk 140 gr. paper, size 42x100cm.
To make it even more unique, each poster is signed by the artist.
