Alessandro Cadario

He has been Principal Guest Conductor of the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan since 2016. He has conducted several leading Italian and international orchestras, including the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra, the Kraków Philharmonic, as well as the orchestras of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Regio Torino, La Fenice in Venice, Teatro Comunale Bologna, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Arena di Verona, and the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège. In recent seasons he conducted the world premiere of Jeanne Dark by Fabio Vacchi at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Festival, receiving high critical acclaim, and made his debut with Handel’s Messiah on the podium of the Kraków Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also appeared at the Rossini Opera Festival, MITO Festival, Teatro Petruzzelli, Teatro Massimo Palermo, Royal Opera House Muscat, Teatro Bellini Catania, Opéra Royal de Wallonie Liège (Giselle) and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma (Die Fledermaus). He made his debut with the Zagreb Philharmonic and with the orchestra of the Accademia della Scala. Alongside the classical repertoire, he dedicates considerable attention to contemporary music, conducting numerous world premieres of works by Antonioni, Bettinelli, Campogrande, D’Amico, Fedele, Galante, Tutino and Vacchi. He graduated in orchestral conducting with top honours from the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan, and later earned two merit diplomas from the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. He also holds diplomas in violin, choral conducting and composition. He has a strong personal interest in astrophysics and quantum physics.
