Born in Béziers, France, in 1974, he began his dance training with jazz at the age of eight before entering the Ballet School of the Paris Opera in 1986. In 1992, at 18, he joined the Corps de Ballet of the Paris Opera Ballet. His rise within the company was rapid: promoted to Coryphée in 1994, Sujet in 1997, and Premier danseur in 1999. On 22 September 2005, during a tour in Shanghai, he was named Étoile after performing Albrecht in Giselle and Frédéri in L’Arlésienne. Throughout his career as Étoile, he distinguished himself in an exceptional repertoire that bridged classical, neoclassical and contemporary works. His major roles included Siegfried in Swan Lake, Basilio in Don Quixote, the Prince Désiré in The Sleeping Beauty, and the title roles in Onegin, The Firebird and Romeo and Juliet. He worked closely with leading choreographers such as George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Angelin Preljocaj and Alexei Ratmansky. He took his final bow on 20 February 2016 at the Palais Garnier, closing an outstanding performing career that deeply marked the history of the Paris Opera Ballet. Since then, he has continued to contribute to the world of dance as a choreographer, coach and artistic advisor, sharing his artistry and experience with new generations of dancers. Renowned for his refined technique, emotional depth and stage charisma, he remains one of the emblematic figures of French ballet.
