Born in Avellino, he graduated in Orchestral Conducting, Composition, and Band Instrumentation from the “Santa Cecilia” Conservatory of Music in Rome, later refining his training at major national and international academies and institutions under the distinguished guidance of Carlo Maria Giulini and Bruno Aprea. He has collaborated as Assistant Conductor to Antonio Pappano and Daniel Oren. He has received numerous awards and recognitions, including First Prize at the 2010/2011 National Arts Award and the First Absolute Prize at the inaugural National Competition for Orchestral Conducting organised by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (M.I.U.R.). He has conducted—and is regularly invited to conduct—at many of the world’s leading opera houses, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Arena di Verona, the Hamburg Staatsoper, the Teatro di San Carlo, the Teatro Regio di Parma, La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro Regio di Torino, and the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, among many others. In the 2024/25 season he conducted Aida at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Il trittico at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Don Pasquale in Hamburg, Turandot at the Royal Opera House in London, L’elisir d’amore at the Wiener Staatsoper in Vienna, Otello in Bilbao, Madama Butterfly in Las Palmas, and Carmen in Verona.
