For Teatro alla Scala Robert Carsen has directed Cosi fan tutte, Dialogues des Carmelites, Káťa Kabanová, Alcina, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Candide, La fanciulla del West, CO2 (Battistelli), Don Giovanni, Falstaff, Giulio Cesare in Egitto, Peter Grimes and L’Orontea (Cesti). For the musical theatre he has directed Singin’ in the Rain, My Fair Lady and Candide at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Beautiful Game and Sunset Boulevard in the UK, Cabaret for the reopening of the Paris Lido, and The Beggar’s Opera at the Theatre des Bouffes du Nord, Paris and on tour.
