On the occasion of the performances of Iphigénie en Tauride at the Teatro Costanzi, this narrative seamlessly intertwines theatre and live music, unfolding as a confession set against the backdrop of late 18th-century Paris. At its heart are Christoph Willibald Gluck and Niccolò Piccinni, central figures in the famous querelle that divided the musical world between supporters of Gluck’s musical reform and the Italian tradition. Music serves as the starting point for a reflection on the human destiny of an artist, and the intricate relationship between art, power, and memory.
